# Terms of Service

> Terms governing doma.in accounts, domain registrations, payments, user responsibilities and use of the service.

These terms govern the use of doma.in and every domain registered with it. Please read them before registering a domain.

## 1. Acceptance

By creating an account, or by registering, renewing, restoring or holding a domain under any extension the registry operates, you accept these terms together with the [Registration Policy](/policy/), the [Acceptable Use Policy](/aup/) and the [Privacy Policy](/privacy/). Those documents are part of these terms. If you do not accept them, do not register a domain; if you already hold one, you can delete it or let it expire.

## 2. Who We Are

doma.in is operated by Show Corporation ("we", "us"), a company incorporated in Delaware, United States, at 838 Walker Road, Suite 21-2, Dover, Delaware 19904, United States.

## 3. The Service

The registry registers domains under its extensions and publishes their delegation (NS and DS records) in the parent zone. It does not host DNS records, websites or email.

A registration gives you the right to use a domain for the term you have paid for, under these terms. It does not make you the owner of the name.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", with no service level agreement. We do not guarantee that the website, the registry's DNS publication or the RDAP service will always be available or free of errors, or that any particular name will remain available. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied.

## 4. Accounts

You sign in with one of the sign-in providers offered on the site. You are responsible for the security of the account you sign in with, as access to that account provides control over its domains. You must maintain a valid, verified account email address; it is where we send notices about your domains.

## 5. Orders, Balance and Payment

Prices are shown before you place an order and are fixed when the order is placed. Orders are paid from your account balance. A domain is registered, renewed or restored only after its order has been paid.

Your balance is funded by redeeming vouchers. Each voucher has a stated value and can be redeemed once; its full value is added to the balance of the account that redeems it. A voucher may carry an expiry date, after which it can no longer be redeemed. Until it has been redeemed, a voucher may be passed on to someone else, and its value goes to whoever redeems it first. Vouchers are sold or distributed outside this website. We may revoke a voucher that was obtained fraudulently, after which it cannot be redeemed.

The balance is service credit for use on this website only. It does not constitute cash or a deposit and cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money or transferred to another account.

Refunds are made to the account balance. A paid order that cannot be fulfilled is refunded. Fees are not refunded when a domain is deleted, however recently it was registered. Otherwise, fees for a term that has begun are not refunded, including when a domain is deleted, expires, or is suspended or deleted under these terms.

## 6. Registrant Data

You must give accurate and complete registrant details, keep them up to date and verify the registrant's email address when asked. If you register a domain on behalf of another person or organization, you must have their consent to provide their data to us and to its use as described in the Privacy Policy. Inaccurate data, or a failure to verify it, may lead to the domain being put on hold.

## 7. Your Responsibilities

As the holder of a domain, you are responsible for:

- everything published or sent under the domain and its subdomains, including by people you let use it;
- its DNS: choosing a DNS provider, keeping your nameservers and any DNSSEC keys working, and the records you set there;
- making sure your registration and use of the name do not infringe anyone else's rights, such as a trademark;
- complying with the law that applies to you and to what you publish.

### Prohibited Uses

You must not use a domain or its subdomains for:

- providing, selling, reselling or promoting VPN or internet proxy services for others, whether paid or free;
- pornography or other adult-only (18+) content or services, including links and redirects to them;
- phishing, unsolicited bulk email or messages, malware, botnets, network attacks or fraud;
- child sexual abuse material or activities that facilitate the sexual exploitation of minors;
- promoting or inciting political violence, violent extremism or terrorism, or supporting related recruitment, fundraising or operations;
- threats, targeted harassment, incitement to hatred, infringement or other unlawful activities.

The [Acceptable Use Policy](/aup/) defines these restrictions in detail. They apply to services you operate and services you allow others to operate under your domain. The restrictions on offering VPN and internet proxy services to others and on adult content apply even where these are lawful.

A breach may result in suspension, restrictions, deletion of the domain or account suspension, as described in that policy. Fees paid for a domain suspended or deleted for a breach are not refunded.

### Additional Rules for .edu.ax

Names under `.edu.ax` are open to any registrant. A name under this extension does not show that its holder is an educational institution, is accredited, or is connected with any school. You must not use a `.edu.ax` domain, its subdomains or email addresses under it to:

- present a website or service as that of a university, college, school or other educational institution, or as connected with one, when it is not, including an institution that does not exist;
- claim student, staff or institutional status in order to obtain discounts, free or reduced-price products or services, verification, or any other benefit offered to education.

If we find such use, we suspend or delete the domain without refund and may disable the account. These rules apply in addition to the prohibited uses above.

## 8. Our Rights

We may:

- put a domain on hold so that it stops resolving, lock it, or delete it, if it violates these terms, the policies they include or the law, or where a court or competent authority requires it;
- refuse or cancel a registration, and reserve names;
- correct a registration made in error by the registry, including one at a wrongly displayed price, with a refund of the amount paid to the account balance;
- change prices, rules and limits, or change or end the service. A price change never applies to a term already paid for.

## 9. Disputes over Names

If you believe a domain infringes your rights or should not be held by its current holder, write to [abuse@cctld.com](mailto:abuse@cctld.com) with your evidence. The registry reviews each complaint and may leave the domain as it is, put it on hold, transfer it to the complainant or delete it.

The registry’s decision is final within its own review process. It does not limit any right you have to bring the matter before a court, and the registry will act on an order from a court of competent jurisdiction.

## 10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Show Corporation and its staff are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it, including from a domain being suspended, deleted, released or failing to resolve. This includes lost profits, data, business or goodwill, and any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the domain concerned in the preceding year.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

## 11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Show Corporation against any claim, loss or cost, including reasonable legal fees, that a third party brings or causes because of your domain, what is published under it, or your breach of these terms.

## 12. Changes to These Terms

We may change these terms. Changes are published on this page with a new date. If you keep a domain after a change takes effect, the changed terms apply to it.

## 13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
